A response to "Stuck in a hole"

One of our wonderful VIK's Gary has been following our progress today and has written this which i thought i would share with you all:

There's a man stuck in a hole in the middle of nowhere, screaming and begging for help. After a few hours a psychiatrist walks by, and says "I can give you some tablets to help alleviate the distress you're feeling." So the psychiatrist throws down some tablets.

A few hours later a psychologist walks by, and sees the difficult situation the man is in. He says "I can't do a lot, but I can offer you 5 minutes of CBT to talk through how your thinking is wrong for being distressed when you can't get out of a hole." So the psychologist does this therapy, and 5 minutes later goes on his way.

Finally, a peer support worker walks by just as the sun dips into twilight. Seeing the man is at his wits end, he jumps into the hole with him. "What the hell do you think you're doing- now we're both stuck!!" says the man.

The peer supporter replies "I've been down here myself- and I know there's a way out."

World premier of The Hole!

Alex, Si and Rachel our resident actors for the day premiered The Hole!

Patience, some friendly and not so friendly passerbys and 'John the Paramedic' find themselves thrown together when Patience falls down a large hole.  How do different people respond? And what's this Paramedic up to?

Using Forum Theatre, the actor then asked the young people in the audience to give suggestions / lines / thoughts / reflections / actions to perform and try to create the 'perfect scenario' for the character.
